Pennsylvania Encourages Organ Donation

PENNSYLVANIA ENCOURAGES ORGAN DONATION

Pennsylvania not only wants your taxes, it wants your organs.

Donate Life Pennsylvania and the Center for Organ Recovery & Education are asking Pennsylvanians to sign up to literally give a part of themselves to others.* Although eighty-five percent of Pennsylvania’s population supports organ and tissue donations, not even half of the eligible donors sign their learner’s permit, driver’s license, or identification cards.

My daughter works at a kidney dialysis unit. Her work impresses on her the value of organ transplants. Occasionally I hear her that her unit has lost a patient due to a kidney transplant. That’s a success story.

In Pennsylvania, nearly eight thousand persons are waiting for an organ transplant. To become a donor, visit www.donatelife-pa.org..
