Flu Bug Invades Our Bodies: Will It Ever End?

FLU BUG INVADES OUR BODIES:

Will it Ever End?

My husband Monte and I are certainly good examples of senior-citizenhood—lazing around all day, hacking and coughing is such unison that we make sweet (or not so sweet) music together.

It all began March 7. While traipsing around downtown Chicago, Monte just didn’t feel up to par. By the time we left and headed towards a motel room, starting our trek back to Southwestern Pennsylvania, he was hacking almost uncontrollably. By Tuesday evening, I was so feverish and achy I told Monte I wasn’t traveling anywhere on Wednesday. I spent the day phasing in and out of sleep, fever and achiness. And Monte also spent the day in bed.

By Thursday, I was hacking along with Monte. It was a joyous ride home, done in a short travel day on Thursday, a long travel day on Friday, and just two hours travel on Saturday. We were quite happy to be at home by 11:55 a. m.

I slept little Saturday night. The cough kept taking over. Monte’s cough isn’t going away. We will both be at the doctor’s on Monday.

Meanwhile, one of Monte’s molars split on Saturday. We also will schedule a dentist appointment Monday.

Of course, all these appointments depend on availability.

We did get the appointments we needed, and are supposedly on the mend, with antibiotics to prevent a worsening scenario.

It looks like this bug will continue to possess us for a while, sapping our energy and keeping us down. Oh well, it too will end.

     Just when?
