Celebrating a Birthday

CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY

It was a wonderful evening—several local persons gathered at my home to celebrate the birthday of my daughter, Sandy. I had asked her what she wanted for dinner, and she told me, “a roast.” After checking my freezer I discovered I needed to run to the store to purchase one, and I purchased some fresh veggies—snow peas, asparagus—to add to the meal that also included potatoes and carrots. The house smelled delicious all afternoon! I had also purchased an almond-raspberry cake. Monte made a special card on the computer. And I thought back to the time that brought Sandy home (see links below).

All in all, a good evening. However, just as we were sitting down to eat, my newly discovered sister called. I felt bad, because we hadn’t talked for a while, but it was so hectic I couldn’t stay on the phone for long.

Earlier in the evening I had visited the neighbor girl, whose birthday was also today. I tasted a sliver of her cake before heading home to finish preparing for Sandy’s dinner.

I’m tired now. Must get some sleep. Good night.
