HOOP-DE-DOO 2: A ROCKIN’ HOEDOWN

A Ligonier (PA) Valley Players Production

     HOOP-DE-DOO…The Show’s About to Begin

On May 13, my friend Peg and I enjoyed a musical presentation at the Ligonier (PA) Valley Theatre. Members of the community presented a musical Hoedown—a Hoop-De-Doo Rockin’ Hoedown. The opening song sung by Cathi Rhodes and Dominic Camarote said it all: A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘ Roll.

The selections and presentations were thoroughly entertaining. Among my favorite tunes were Ring of Fire, Walkin’ the Floor Over You, These Boots Are Made For Walkin’, Your Mama Don’t Dance, and Do You Love Me.

After enjoying the show, my only wish is that the theater presents an encore next year.

My only regret was that I wouldn’t allow myself to indulge in the theater’s buttery, yummy, popcorn. After all, I gained back a significant number of pounds this past winter, and I cannot afford to gain any more while I am struggling to lose those nasty additions.

The only sad part was the show’s dedication: …to Our Front Row Angel, Nellie Rhodes Salvatore. Your are truly missed, Mom.
