AN UNEXPECTED PLEASURE: TREES THINNED OUT

By an unexpected pleasure, my writing late this August 10, 2011, afternoon was interrupted by a neighbor with a chain saw. Yes—I said pleasure. It was a pleasure to have him come over and mess up our property.

Two years ago my son in law Michael brought over his chain saw and did the first thinning of trees on several thickly wooded spots on our property. After the mess was cleaned up from that I was able to mark the additional trees that needed to be thinned out. Michael is tied up on his job, being out of town a good bit of his time, and he is very busy keeping up on the home front. Furthermore, the tips of several trees that were uprooted in the last storm are laying on his roof. Thus, when the neighbor showed up willing to clear out our trees, I welcomed him.

I won’t identify him—if I did, he would be inundated with others wanting him to work cutting down their trees. But I am ever so grateful that he felled the numerous small trees (and a couple of larger ones) for us.

By the way, can anyone identify the tree the leaves in teh following picture are from??? Reply in the comment box following this post. I’d appreciate it!
