Chad Eric Smith on Acting

Theater is the actor’s medium.

Film is the director’s medium.

In film it is art in motion, art that will live forever, art that documents. The actor tries to bring to life the director’s vision.

Chad Eric Smith shared this with me during an interview for a post on Carolyn’s Compositions. He is ending his seven-year stay in Westmoreland County with two theatrical accomplishments: being an extra on the set of The Dark Knight Rises filmed this month in Pittsburgh, and the premiere of Black Kerchief, a gritty western film in which he plays the role of Charlie. It is being premiered at the Hollywood Theater in Pittsburgh On Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at 7 p. m.

“A good chunk of it was filmed Fort Ligonier,” Chad said. “Other locations included random, rural, areas of Western Pennsylvania having no signs of civilization.”

Chad is planning to continue his theatrical career in Washington, D. C. Read more about Chad by clicking on
