Mummified Body Collection

I occasionally watch the television reality show Hoarders. It focuses on people who are literally driven out of their homes by stuff. They just cannot dispose of any physical items.

Some of the stuff may include special collections. One man collected game machines. Another dolls. Thousands of them.

Several featured collectors of chickens, rabbits, cats, rats, and dogs, many of which were in deplorable condition.

A Russian historian who loved to rummage through cemeteries had the collection of all collections: mummified bodies.

Each item in his macabre collection of twenty-nine bodies looked like dolls. They were dressed in women’s clothing he scavenged from graves.

The man lived in an apartment with his parents. Did they really believe that his collection was life-sized dolls? I wonder if he will make the Guiness Book of World Records.

Most of us have things we collect—sometimes to the point of hoarding. We often collect something because of its uniqueness and/or rarity. However, this historian, in my opinion, took the term unique collection a little too far. It is truly bizarre.
