CAROLYN’S DAILY POSTS: 2011
BIRTHDAY DINNER AT
MOUNTAIN PALACE, IN BOLIVAR, PA.
A light snow fell as we traveled to Bolivar, Pennsylvania, about a twenty minute drive from our Laurel Mountain foothills home. My husband Monte suggested we have dinner there because the weekend of my birthday was filled with meetings and engagements, thus we couldn’t fit it in.
The Mountain Palace is a new Chinese restaurant hidden in the rural region about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh. Located in a former home, it specializes in Northern Chinese cuisine. The house also contains a small Chinese art museum.
While we were eating a young couple entered, bearing a large Christmas stocking filled with gifts for the mother of owner Lacy Cai, M. D., Ph. D. I was able to capture the event on camera:
I hope to do a post on the restaurant later, on my regular writing blog site, but for now I wanted to share the happy occasion.
